Eagleswood students enjoyed "Sports with the Superintendent" today!

Last week, Mrs. Colucci and Ms. Mack’s 6th grade class watched a movie with the Kindergarten class as a reward for raising the most money in the annual Coin Wars fundraiser. Everyone enjoyed the movie, some popcorn, and juice. This was the 6th graders way of thanking Kindergarten for donating to their fundraiser!

Our Kids Heart Challenge program is winding down tomorrow. The students have had a blast getting their hearts pumping in PE classes! If you have not done so already, please make one last touch point to friends and families to spread awareness and ask for support which will help our school make an impact on the lives of others. Thank you to all the families who supported our initiative to encourage students to prioritize their overall health and wellbeing as well as raise life-saving funds for the American Heart Association. You were instrumental to the success of this service-learning program.

Ms. Gigerian taught a lesson to the 4th grade about how words can be hurtful and cannot be taken back. She used the analogy of a tube of toothpaste, demonstrating how, once squeezed out, it cannot be put back in!

A thoughtful 5th grade student is making a difference for the butterflies in her community! Understanding the vital role milkweed plays in the butterfly life cycle, particularly for monarchs, she noticed a potential problem on the school playground. To protect the butterflies' food source and habitat, she created a sign reminding everyone not to cut down the milkweed. Her actions demonstrate a strong understanding of environmental stewardship and a caring attitude towards local wildlife.

Ms. Anderson and Mrs. O’Keefe’s class made marshmallow play dough for Valentine’s Day! It was a great listening activity!

Hello families! We’ve set a goal to create a community of lifesavers by getting everyone to take Finn’s Mission and learn Hands-Only CPR. When given immediately, it can double (even triple) a person’s chance of surviving cardiac arrest. If you haven’t done it yet, take Finn’s Mission today to learn this lifesaving skill. http://www2.heart.org/goto/EagleswoodTownshipElementary
